The late Seventies. Nylon running jackets and pants were "sportswear," literally worn for sport. Back then, Nike applied innovation with their iconic Windrunner jacket. Nike moved seams off the shoulders to help eliminate chafing and improve water resistance. The resulting 26-degree chevron made the Nike Windrunner instantly recognizable. By the mid-80s, the Nike Windrunner was indispensable. Nearly as important to windmills and backspins as a fine piece of lino.
